Thermal Properties

Mica has exceptional thermal properties.

Mica is fireproof, infusible incombustible and non-flammable and can resist temperatures of 600C to 1250 C depending on the type of mica. It has low heat conductivity, excellent thermal stability and may be exposed to high temperatures without noticeable effect.

Depending on type of Mica, it has calcinations temperatures as high as 1250 C. They have great resistance to arc and arc erosions.
